1. Childhood hero?
The Black Knight.

2. What did you want to grow up to be?
Rock musician (drummer) or bus driver.

3. What do you associate with the word "Home"?
Playing football near the Rhine, our rehearsal room.

4. What were you like at school?
A bit of a loudmouth. School wasn't my thing - and I wasn't school's thing either.

5. What was the first record you ever bought?
Deep Purple in Rock

6. What was the first concert you went to?
The Count Bishops at the Rockgarden in London, March 1977.

7. Your first band?
We used to bang on saucepan lids with some local kids, the band was called "Pazific Control" (oh my days!). The first "proper" band was ZK, formed in November '78, first gig was in March '79.

8. Your first time: What was she called? How was it?
Heidi. I was tripping, which was the best thing about it. It wasn't fantastic, just something different.

9. Who are you?
Are you taking the piss???

10. Which living person do you admire the most (and why)?
Joachim Fuchsberger! Why? Because there's a TV on in the background at the moment and he happens to be on it...

11. Which natural gift or talent would you like to have?
To be able to fart odourlessly.

12. Your favourite pastime?
Filling in questionnaires.

13. What was your biggest mistake?
Sticking my head in the horn of the PA systems in the early days (damaged hearing, particularly susceptible to high frequencies).

14. Do you have a motto?
Only dead fish swim with the tide.

15. What is your favourite method of wasting time?
Playing Tipp-Kick, table ice hockey, listening to music.

16. Would you rather have 500 or 5,000 sound carriers at home?
More like 5,000, and not a single 'Chris de Burgh' among them!

17. Do you ever record cassettes for other people?
I used to enjoy doing it in the days when my cassette player still worked.

18. What would you describe as the most personal object in your flat?
The loaf of Paderborn bread, which I bought for myself this morning.

19. What calms you down the most?
Quiet music, valium

20. Your secret passion?
Spaghetti arrabiata

21. Which polite gestures are you particularly good at?
Saying "Can you manage?" to someone when I see them struggling along with five massive suitcases.

22. Define your utopia with regard to human relationships?
Watching Joachim Fuchsberger on the tele with my girlfriend.

23. When was the last time you cried and why?
Five minutes ago; Joachim Fuchsberger just said "cheerio" to the living room. And I always cry when I watch "Der eiserne Gustav" starring Heinz Ruehmann. No shit!

24. What do you consider to be the worst thing that could ever befall you?
Joachim Fuchsberger and Heinz Ruehmann together in one evening.

25. Where would you like to live (that is, where would you prefer to live other than Germany)?
In Duesseldorf at the moment. The important question for me is not where, but with whom.

26. What would you miss about Duesseldorf if you were elsewhere?
The rehearsal room (I know, the others will all start shouting "swot" again), my friends, Fortuna 95...

27. What would paradise on earth be for you?
Being able to stay in bed all day when the weather is awful outside.

28. Which mistakes are you willing to forgive most readily?
My own.

I don't like to see men hiding their faces beneath a beard.

I don't like to see women hiding their faces beneath a beard.

Stick it in the oven and have it with my potato speciality and a choice red wine, that ought to brighten up the mood a little.

47. To what extent are the Hosen different from other bands?
Perhaps they aren't that different from other bands...

48. Is it pleasing to imagine that someone might cry over a Hosen song?
What imagination can possibly come up with the idea that there is anything pleasant about "crying"?

49. What can you be seduced by?
Any unequivocal letter containing a photo.

50. What is the worst record that you have been in part responsible for?
Probably some dire bootlegs of our concerts.

51. The best piece of heckling from an audience?
"I can't go on any longer..."

52. What's it really like backstage?
Unromantic, provisional, busy. But, I always feel OK, much better than in an hotel.

53. Have you ever felt lonely whilst on a big tour?
More likely, when I'm not on tour.

54. Which other occupation other than musician would you consider?
Painter (with Farben-Frank), chief buck of a rabbit breeders association.

55. Do rock stars ever grow up?
Do these questions get any more idiotic?

56. The high point of your career so far?
Our "Learning English" CD

57. And the low point?
The first ZK gig, and like the others, the 1,000th concert.

58. Do you feel you've been at it for a long time?
I feel as though this nonsense here makes me want to puke.

59. Is it conceivable that you might suddenly quit the band and that you'll never be seen or heard of again?
Yes! And it is also conceivable that I shall soon be taking up residence on Planet Mars, by the way!
