The Year 1998

The band was asked whether they would like to take part in the Warped Festival Tour - nothing too involved, decent-sized crowds in decent-sized venues. The Hosen agreed, largely to find out whether or not they could be relaxed about playing again. Far away from home and the Rhein Stadium, the Hosen found their way back to the stages of the world. Together with bands like Pennywise and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, they did 14 concerts in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Hawaii.

The single "Pushed Again" was a small gift to their friends from abroad. The Hosen produced a video clip to accompany the single, which took issue with the police violence as a world-wide phenomenon. In the renewed protest against the Castor transportation, the Hosen gave a concert on the railway line itself, managing to survive it relatively unscathed. Then to follow up there were a few Magical Mystery Concerts as the "Rhein Pirates from Duesseldorf" and the German edition of the Warped Festival, which was largely a skateboard event with live music.

Back in Duesseldorf, the band couldn't help noticing that the Roten Rosen had infiltrated their rehearsal studio. They found themselves forced to work on the Christmas album "Warten auf's Christkind") ("Waiting for Baby Jesus"), which turned out to be a rather splendid collection of punk versions of Christmas carols, such as "Silent Night". This was followed by a great Christmas Tour and by the New Year arrived, everybody was ready for a vacation!
