The Year 1994
From the booklet of Reich & Sexy (Japan Version)
The release of learning English - Lesson One having convinced people in far-flung corners of the globe of their artistic qualities, they produced an English version of "Reich und Sexy" ("Love, peace & Money") which also included a Japanese version of the highly erotic cover art. Old friends gave the Hosen a helping hand with the translations, namely John Plain and Matt Dangerfield from the "Boys". And so it was that in this particular year, with the two "Best of" versions and "Kauf mich" ("Buy me"), there were a total of three Hosen albums in the charts at the same time!

The "Reich und Sexy" Tour sold out 24 concerts and played to a total of 200,000 people who, of their own volition and with increasing rapture, took part in a two hour-long party with the Hosen. In order not to lose touch with reality completely, the Hosen toured Europe, the States, South America and Japan. There were plenty of surprising spectacles en route too: In Buenos Aires the Hosen played to an excited crowd of 4,000 kids and their hotel was under constant siege. In the States they filled many a big venue as the support to Green Day.
The high-spot of this programme of cultural contrasts was however, a concert in Istanbul where 3,000 kids got into it so much that they made off with half the band's equipment! Towards the end of the Year the Hosen, dressed to kill in chic sailors' uniforms, took part in the 300th episode of the German TV criminal thriller series "Tatort" directed by Hanns-Christian Mueller.
