The Year 1988
- and then along came Alex. And no messing. Real horrorshow! The Hosen spent the next six months on the stage of the Civic Theatre in Bonn where they were given the opportunity to provide the musical accompaniment to their favourite classic "A Clockwork Orange". Here they were to meet the director Bernd Schadewald and Ralf Richter in the role of "Alex", the malevolent leader of the "Bratschniks" from the Korova Milk Bar, created by Anthony Burgess in 1962 and later adapted for the cinema by Stanley Kubrick. The German weekly Newspaper Die Zeit wrote about the play: "Music, Oh my brothers and sisters, is not just manna, oh no, it also tells of violence. This time it's a few late-comer punks from Duesseldorf who are responsible for the beautiful noise. And their music hits out, so that it's a joy to behold."

Duly inspired by the experience on the theatrical stage, "Ein kleines Bisschen Horrorshow" was conceived. In represented a musical adaptation typical for the Hosen of this classic piece, which had in turn influenced other bands before such as the Adicts, likewise Hosen heroes. In consequence "Hier kommt Alex" (Here comes Alex) was banned by the Bavarian State Radio, earned a platinum disc and created general Hosen-Mania. In order not to lose all sense of reality, the five lads from Duesseldorf packed their bags in October and hit the road, stirring up every gig from Amsterdam to Lithuania.
