Magical Mystery Gig, 20th June 2001 in Osnabrueck

Thomas from Osnabrueck had already won this Magical Mystery Gig with VIVA last year as a reward for the funniest video clip. But then Campino's torn ligament got in the way. Sandwiched between the gig with THE OFFSPRING in Katowice and the Hurricane Festival in Schessel, there was a suitable slot for the now well overdue "Living-room gig". Here are a few impressions.

Living-room gig

3 pm A normal Wednesday afternoon at the Meyers' house in an idyllic terrace in Osnabrueck. Quite normal?

At first glance quite normal. Frau Meyer is standing in the kitchen preparing her celebrated potato salad...

Meanwhile Herr Meyer is in the garden re-inspecting rotating grill to make sure everything is as it should be...

Then suddenly there's a ring at the door and some blokes with tattoos start humping musical instruments into the house...

4 pm A drum kit is set up right in front of the rustic-looking, full-length living room cabinet...

And then all of a sudden the band that goes with the gear turns up: A coach pulls up at the Meyers' front door, the Toten Hosen get out and head straight for the garden, where a handful of fans have already gathered...

Early evening: Campino announces the support band "Added Reality" and doesn't neglect to praise Herr Meyers' juniper schnapps...

Golden hour for "Added Reality": The host's band plays a mixture of German punk and ska for half an hour (with Thomas on the drums)...
