Buenos Aires/ Argentina (13. - 26.10.2003)

Away game in Argentina: in Buenos Aires, we met the Argentine Hosen cover band "Opelgang"; played our first living room gig on Argentine ground; and were lucky to experience two unforgettable shows in the sold-out "Luna Park" and at the "Quilmes Rock 2003" festival, held next to the River Plate Stadium.

Living-Room Concert

The first living-room concert on Argentinean ground: Juan Manuel had written that his dog Sam had to see the Toten Hosen live before he died. Unfortunately, the Hosen arrived too late for the dog, but they still liked the thought of having to drag an electricity generator into some remote district of Buenos Aires...
As with the German living-room gigs, the host was only allowed to invite his best friends to the occasion. And we quickly found out that he was well-prepared for the spectacle when we browsed through his combined book- and record shelf: here we found an illustrated book on Maradona directly next to the album "Ein kleines bisschen Horrorshow"...
A typical Argentinean living-room: before ... and after the show by "Los Hosen"!
Two days later, 8,000 fans would be waiting for the Hosen at the Luna Park, but right now they were here, and partying with their host Juan Manuel, who was already jumping around in leopard-patterned underpants by the time "Wünsch Dir was" was played.
By now, the living-room looks as if the Hell's Angels had ridden across it several times with their motorbikes. The parquet floor is flooded with a mixture between sweat, sludge, and schnapps". (quotation from the German newspaper "taz")
The miracle of Buenos Aires: Campino finally makes peace with "the hand of God", which, being a fan of the English football team, he had hated passionately since the World Championship of 1986. During the concerts at the Luna Park and at the Quilmes-Rock-Festival, he dedicated the song "Cokane In My Brain" to Maradona.
