Vom: Wäre auch mal geil, wenn du das Lied "Worm Song" wie bei RaR 08 öfters singen könntest, machst Du das? Wer singt das Lied sonst?
I'm not sure if we will be doing this again as we treated this as a 'one off ' for Rock am park/ring, but if people like it then why not! The original, is a really old children´s song, but was made famous by 'The Yobs' i.e. 'The Boys' the other band that I play for, so we (DTH) stole the idea basically (what´s new!!). The Yobs version can be heard on either 'the yobs xmas album' or 'the worst of the yobs'.
Ich bin nicht sicher, ob wir das nochmal tun werden, weil wir es wie ein Special für Rock am Ring und Rock im Park behandelt haben – aber wenn die Leute es mögen, warum nicht? Das Original ist ein wirklich altes Kinderlied, das allerdings durch die „The Yobs“ bekannt gemacht wurde, also den „The Boys“, die andere Band, für die ich spiele. So haben wir (DTH) die Idee im Grunde genommen gestohlen (was etwas Neues ist!!). Die Version der Yobs kann man auf deren Weihnachtsalbum hören oder auf „The Worst of the Yobs“.

Before joining the band I was the one in the front row of the crowd shouting 'jump you fucker jump', but now I'm a bit more nervous when I see him up there because I know that if he falls I won't get paid (laughs).
Bevor ich zur Band stieß, war ich derjenige in der ersten Reihe, der schrie: „Spring, Du Arschloch, spring!“ Aber heutzutage bin ich etwas nervöser, wenn ich ihn dort oben sehe, weil ich weiß, dass wenn er runterfällt, ich nicht bezahlt werde (lacht).

The answer to this question is yes, I do go to a lot of concerts. I think the best this year has to be the Lockerse festival in Belgium where I saw the Kids, Buzzcocks, New York Dolls and the Sex Pistols. All 4 bands were amazing along with the crowd and location. It was also very special for me as I met up with a lot of old friends who came from all over Europe for this show including my old mate Vince Incredible from 'The Spittin' Vicars'!! A close second has to be El*ke and the Trashmonkeys at the Kommz festival in Aschaffenburg who both played fantastic shows consecutively. This was all the more special as I was visiting friends in Aschaffenburg and we arrived at 6 and looked in the local paper 1 hour before the show and saw that the festival was on that day, so we jumped in the car and went straight to the show. All very spontaneous and it was a big surprise for the El*ke guys when they saw us in the front cheering them on.
Die Antwort auf die Frage ist ja, ich gehe zu einer Menge Konzerte. Ich denke, das Beste in diesem Jahr müsste das Lockerse Festival in Belgien gewesen sein, wo ich The Kids, Buzzcock, New York Dolls und Sex Pistols gesehen habe. Alle vier Bands waren phantastisch zusammen mit dem Publikum und dem Veranstaltungsort. Es war auch sehr speziell für mich, weil ich eine Menge alter Freunde wieder traf, die aus allen Winkeln Europas für diese Show angereist waren, inklusive meines alten Freundes Vince Incredible von den Spittin’ Vicars. Knapp auf dem zweiten Platz müssen El*ke und die Trashmonkeys landen, auf dem Kommz-Festival in Aschaffenburg, wo beide nacheinander phantastische Auftritte hinlegten. Das war noch spezieller, weil ich Freunde in Aschaffenburg besuchte und wir um 18 Uhr ankamen und eine Stunde vor dem ersten Auftritt in die lokale Zeitung schauten und entdeckten, dass das Festival an dem Tag war. So sprangen wir ins Auto und sind sofort dorthin gefahren. Alles war sehr spontan und es war eine große Überraschung für die Jungs von El*ke, als sie uns vorne vor der Bühne stehen sahen, um sie anzufeuern.

Welches Ramones-Album ist eure Nummer 1?
My favourite Ramones album is probably the first one , just called ' Ramones' . When I played it for the first time all those years ago it was like a
wall of noise at breakneck speed . Nothing had eallly been done like that
before . Playing it back now it seems slow compared to a lot of other bands
, but at the time , this was a musical revolution for me . Aside from the
brutality of it , I loved the songs , they are at the end of the day ,
singalong pop songs of the highest quailty . I have all the Ramones albums
and love them all for different reasons and different songs , but this one
stands out as a breakthrough album .
Mein Lieblings Ramones-Album ist wahrscheinlich das Erste welches einfach nur "Ramones" hieß. Als ich es das erste Mal spielte war das wie eine Wand aus Lärm in einem Höllentempo. Sowas gab es vorher nicht. Wenn ich es allerdings heute auflege kommt es mit fast langsam vor verglichen mit anderen Bands. Aber damals war das eine musikalische Revolution für mich. Abgesehen von der brutalität des Albums liebte ich die Lieder. Das sind letztendlich hochqualitative Pop-Songs zum mitsingen.

Wann tretet ihr mal wider beim "Woodstock Festival" in poland auf und wie nahmt ihr eure letzten Auftritte wahr?
I'm not sure if we will play Woodstock again as there was a problem with the
organisers last time. That was really sad as we love to play this festival. Both times we played were very special . The first time, because I had
never played to so many people before and the atmosphere was incredible .
The second time was because it was on my birthday and the whole crowd sang
happy birthday to me in Polish and that was an amazing feeling . The
problems started at the end of the set when, by accident, some radio
transmission equipment got unplugged ( it was being filmed and broadcast
live ) so the TV people lost sound . Then I saw someone on the side of the
stage started signalling for us to stop playing, so we did. The announcer
then told the crowd that we refused to play any more, which understanably,
upset the crowd and they started to boo and throw things on the stage, and
the organisers started acting really strange towards us. If anyone was at
that festival, and is reading this ,I would like to apologise for us not
carrying on, but it was really not our fault . We were told to stop. For
this reason, I do not think that we will asked to play Woodstock again.
Sad.
